Time can be a friend or an enemy But for you and I, it's a melody In the distance lies a reverie Of what is, and what is gonna be All this time we have tried to find What we've known for so long Was right before our eyes I don't wanna run away We can bring it all to life The only thing that ever felt right All this time Some live life for responsibility But for you and I, it's tranquility Some live life according to how their shown Cause that's all they've known All they've ever known All this time we have tried to find What we've known for so long Was right before our eyes I don't wanna run away We can bring it all to life The only thing that ever felt right All this time All this time we have tried to find What we've known for so long Was right before our eyes I don't wanna run away We can bring it all to life The only thing that ever felt right All this time All this time

Once I was a child, a magical thinker I thought I held the key to life at the tip of my finger But somewhere along the way, everything changed And my dough-eyed optimism became shrouded in pain Oh La da di da la di day Oh La da di da la di day I don't make a lot of money and I ain't found a love I spend a lot of time writing songs nobody's heard of But maybe someday, I'll get where I'm going Or maybe I won't, the fun is never really knowing Oh La da di da la di day Oh La da di da la di day When I woke up this morning, that sun was shining And I could hear those birdies singing, "Marc, quit your crying" Everyday's a new day to feel no pain Bask in the enormity of trees and the essence of the rain Bask in the enormity of trees and the essence of the rain Bask in the enormity of trees and the essence of the rain Oh La da di da la di day Oh La da di da la di day

I Will 03:57
Pesky little demons lurking in the shadows You don't know what's coming 'round the corner But, neither do I, so I won't patronize I'll just take this moment to promise you I will, I will hold onto your hand I won't let go until we get to the light Don't say, don't say you're gonna be lonely Cause I will be right there at your side I will, I will hold onto your hand I won't let go until we get to the light Don't say, don't say you're gonna be lonely Cause I will be right there at your side It's only natural to feel unsure When the world knocks you down And you're lying on the floor When troubles come and you need to find your strength again I'll pick you up I'll dust you off I'll be your friend I will, I will hold onto your hand I won't let go until we get to the light Don't say, don't say you're gonna be lonely Cause I will be right there at your side I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will, I will hold onto your hand I won't let go until we get to the light Don't say, don't say you're gonna be lonely Cause I will be right there at your side I will, I will hold onto your hand I won't let go until we get to the light Don't say, don't say you're gonna be lonely Cause I will be right there at your side I will, I will hold onto your hand I won't let go until we get to the light Don't say, don't say you're gonna be lonely Cause I will be right there at your side I will be right there at your side I will be right there at your side I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will I will

Angelina 03:27
Oh, Angelina Is that your name I don't even know you But I hope I see you again You're my favorite barista You make my drinks how I like I wanna ask you to dinner Your flirty eyes say I might I pass by every morning Wondering if you're there I just wanna see you Just wanna feel the love in your air Oh, Angelina I'm pretty sure that's your name I've got no idea But it sounds so nice to say Oh, Angelina You're my new favorite dream I've got a feeling that you're gonna Make a happy man out of me I hope you don't have a boyfriend And that you're not involved Cause I've been working up the courage And I need some resolve Maybe I'll ask for your number If I'm not too afraid Maybe you'll say you've been waiting And you're glad I came I pass by every morning Wondering if you're there I just wanna see you Just wanna feel the love in your air Oh, Angelina I'm pretty sure that's your name I've got no idea But it sounds so nice to say Oh, Angelina You're my new favorite dream I've got a feeling that you're gonna Make a happy man out of me

about

Following two slickly produced studio albums, Marc Ambrosia is keeping things folksy and acoustic on his latest brief (but brilliant) EP, “The Enormity of Trees & The Essence of Rain.”

“All This Time” kicks things off with Ambrosia sharing vocal duties with Best Bear front woman, Jeanette Lynne. Much in the way of a Buckingham Nicks or an Everly Brothers recording, Ambrosia and Lynne harmonize throughout this entire song while both questioning the passage of time and appreciating the destination that time is eventually leading them to. On the surface, “All This Time”is a song about gratitude, the power of perspective, and ultimately, a song about the future. At the core, it’s a beautiful mix of looking back, taking stock, and looking ahead all at once.

Title track, “The Enormity of Trees and the Essence of Rain” finds Marc in a more mournful mood. Where once he revered his childlike vision of the world, he finds time has altered his view. Sung in more of an almost spoken word performance, Ambrosia wrestles with his feelings of sorrow and combats them with optimism; ‘Every day is a new day to feel no pain, bask in the enormity of trees and the essence of the rain.’ Considering Ambrosia is only 26 years old, this song shockingly comes across as sage advice from an old soul.

“I Will” steers things back into more pop territory, ground Ambrosia is no stranger to. Here, Ambrosia delivers a soulful ode to friendship, a promise of steadfast support, and a commitment to surviving change. Ambrosia’s signature vocal layerings are all over this track, making it an instant earworm to any longtime Marc Ambrosia fan.

Finally, Marc delivers “Angelina,” a quiet, beautiful love song. Anyone familiar with Ambrosia’s existing catalog knows his knack for writing love songs is unmatched. Sung as if it were prayed, “Angelina” longs for feelings of love to be requited.

Throughout “The Enormity of Trees & The Essence of Rain” EP, time seems to be a constant theme. Time passes on, bringing new perspectives, providing enlightenment, serving as a catalyst for stronger connection and understanding. Perhaps Marc Ambrosia is on a quest for zen? If so, these songs would show he’s come a long way. Thankfully, he’s holding onto our hand and not letting go until we get to the light.

about

Marc Ambrosia New Jersey

With Edge, his upcoming third studio album, Trendsetter Award winner Marc Ambrosia didn’t set out to write songs that would be considered “hip” or “current,” but rather “timeless” and “treasured.” Musically, the loop driven songs hypnotize. Lyrically, the conversational confessions mesmerize.

Edge is set to be released in full on October 28, 2022.
