about
Fresh off the heels of his October 2022 album, Edge, Marc Ambrosia is back with new music and a big announcement - he's gay... and proud.
"I’ve known I was gay since I was eight years old," Ambrosia admits. "Despite that, I never in a million years would have thought I’d be able to admit that to anyone, let alone publicly."
Twenty years later, Marc Ambrosia is doing just that and he's doing it the best way he knows how... through song. Marc's upcoming single, "Gay and Proud" is a rocked out salute to coming out of the closet.
"I knew I was gay for so long and felt rage, shame, and fear," Ambrosia says. "I was so angry that I just couldn’t be “normal;” I felt ashamed that I couldn't change myself, and I felt so afraid that someone might find out my secret. It took me twenty years to not only say I'm gay out loud, but also to accept that about myself and love that about myself. So for me, this song is a celebration of life. A life that was so full of self-hate and one that finally became one of self-love, acceptance, and peace."
lyrics
Starting from a clean page, throwing away the rage
I’m not mad anymore
I’m wiping away the tears, giving into my worst fears
I don’t want to be sad anymore
I want to know what it’s like to love and not be afraid
I want to open the door
Cause if who I am is a secret, what am I living for
What am I living for
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do
I’m gonna live out loud
Gay and proud
I’m coming out
I’m gonna live out loud
Gay and proud
I’m coming out
Spent so many days wondering if I was really how I identified
I tried to play the part, go against what was in my heart time after time
It probably won’t be easy, but nothing’s ever really easy anyway
One truth will never change, every human being is the same, straight or gay
Straight or gay
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do
I’m gonna live out loud
Gay and proud
I’m coming out
I’m gonna live out loud
Gay and proud
I’m coming out
I am not hiding anymore, I’m running through the open door
I’m coming out
I’m coming out
I’m gonna live out loud
Gay and proud
I’m coming out
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do
Do do do do do do do

With Edge, his upcoming third studio album, Trendsetter Award winner Marc Ambrosia didn’t set out to write songs that would
be considered “hip” or “current,” but rather “timeless” and “treasured.” Musically, the loop driven songs hypnotize. Lyrically, the conversational confessions mesmerize.
Edge is set to be released in full on October 28, 2022....more
Michael Fredericks is an awesome artist from my hometown - Clayton, NJ. I can't get enough of his songs. Especially love "That Day," "Don't You Remember," and "Ran Away." Marc Ambrosia
